ABSTRACTAs a in house designer at Mylar Legends I took on a client who wanted a logo design for their dream business. The client requested a simple lockup and wanted my expertise on what the logo should be. Upon talking she mentioned she lost her father recently and a incident around a bird in that timing had a lot of spiritual resonance for her. In combination with her desire to reflect a safe space for the diagnostics company, the idea of spirtualism around birds, health and safety I proposed to her some concepts for her to use in the future when her business may get more funding.

She found the two stack of birds against a sunrise concept the most effective.

THE LOGO FOR THE
WORKSHOP

THEIR BRANDING

A dark red and black-green, a light green/teal and yellow ithe a bold sans sefir and italic serif type, and their key red ‘&’ logo and Yes& Logotype.

Creating the Workshop Logo

After looking into their brand book and logo, I took on a half shape pattern that wasn’t fully representative of anything yet ( as seen on the image above behind the ‘lets chat’ text, to take on further meaning in one of my iterations. Since this logotype was something to be used on the certificate directly under Yes& as a department deliverable, I thought the classic ribbon symbol  merged with their branding would make sense.

PROCESS;
THE CERTIFICATE
5 VARIATIONS PRESENTED

I presented 5 varitations of the certificate design that could be used to the commitee behind the workshop with the senior designer on call. These designs are with inspiration of a classic approach, something more modern, simple, something more creative and a design that extends on something already used in past designs- extended for patterning as a border.
